In preparation for this weekend's series for the No. 2-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team, UWBadgers.com caught up with junior forward Carolyne Prevost (Sarnia, Ontario) to get her take on the Badgers' series against No. 8 North Dakota.

Q: How does the team prepare for playing on the road for over a month?

Prevost: I think that we need to take it one series at a time right now. Obviously with the loss last weekend, the league is getting a little bit closer with the top teams. We just need to take things one game at a time. Every point is going to be crucial from here on in.

Q: Has moving to No. 2 affected the team at all?

Prevost: Not at all. We just have to play consistent. Last weekend we had our moments where we could've made a little bit of a difference in the game [if we had played more consistent]. I'm not too worried. It's still early on in the season, and we can bounce back from it.

Q: How does the team plan to bounce back after last weekend's loss, especially against another tough team in North Dakota?

Prevost: Well they're a different team from last year obviously with the Lamoureux twins transferring there. We're going to have to be aware of them on the ice and just play our game. Obviously our forwards are very talented, and we have a lot of depth up front and in the back. It's going to be crucial for us to play a complete game this weekend.

Q: What type of team is North Dakota? How do you prepare for them?

Prevost: They're going to be a little bit more offensive-minded than before, so defensively I think that we're going to have to be sharp. We will have to really worry about taking care of the puck in our end, and then from there the forwards can do the work up front.

Q: You mention the Lamoureux twins on North Dakota. Being a twin yourself, do you think that playing with a twin sister on the ice affects their play?

Prevost: They play so well together; they've played together for a while. When they're together they're very talented, and we give them credit for that. But I think that we will be able to shut them down with the players that we have. They have good chemistry but there are a lot of good players on other teams also and we can't just be focused on those two.

The Badgers will travel to Grand Forks, N.D. to take on North Dakota this weekend in a Saturday/Sunday series. Both games will begin at 2 p.m. CT at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Badger fans can follow the action live with the Gameday Blog.
