MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin men's and women's divers traveled to Tucson, Ariz., on Friday to begin the weekend-long Wildcat Diving Invitational. Friday's events consisted of the women's 3-meter board and the men's 1-meter board competitions.

Three divers represented Wisconsin in the women's portion of the day, including Roxanne Fitter, Leslie Cannon, and senior Ciara Rinaudo.

Fitter placed the highest of the three UW women on the day, finishing 19th on the 3-meter board with a score of 244.55.

Rinaudo finished in the next highest place for the Badgers, using a score of 230.70 to finish in 26th place.

Ross used a score of 271.90 in the preliminary round of the 1-meter board competition to take 11th place and advance to the consolation round. Ross continued his successful day by taking third in the consolation group with a score of 298.30.

The invitational continues Saturday morning with the preliminaries of the women's 1-meter board and the men's 3-meter board, with the finals of each event taking place in the afternoon. The competition concludes on Sunday, as both the men and women will participate in the platform events.
