Series Notes Wisconsin leads 25-1 all time. The teams last met on Nov. 29, 2008, when the Badgers downed the Panthers 67-46.
1993-94 Reunion During halftime of the game vs. Milwaukee, the 1993-94 Wisconsin men’s basketball team will be reunited and honored at the Kohl Center. Led by head coach Stu Jackson and standout Michael Finley, that Badger team made the 1994 NCAA Tournament, the school’s first appearance in 46 years. Several members of the team will be in attendance tonight and announced at intermission.
One to Watch Senior captain Trevon Hughes is coming off a historical marker in his career after becoming the 34th member of UW's 1,000-point club, and only the eighth player from the Bo Ryan era. Hughes scored his 1,000th point on a jumper from the wing just over five-and-a-half minutes into the game. He recorded 20 points on the game, giving him 1,011 career points. This is also the fifth time Hughes has topped the 20-point mark this season and the 13th in his UW career.
About Milwaukee With four starters returning from last year's 17-14 team, the Panthers were picked to finish fourth in the Horizon League in the preseason after going 11-7 to end up fifth in the standings last season. Two of the Panthers' three double-figure scorers from last season return for fifth-year head coach Rob Jeter, led by senior guard Tone Boyle. Boyle and senior forward James Eayrs - both junior-college transfers - were each named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team last season.
However, Boyle has not seen the floor yet this season, possibly due to a back injury that plagued him late last season, but Eayrs and senior guard Ricky Franklin have picked up where he left off. Franklin has recorded a team-high 14.6 points per game, along with 43 assists--twice as many as any other individual on the team--and 15 steals on the season, while Eayrs averages a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game, and 13.3 points per game.
