
Frykas, Pacholok named to Canada's U18 Team

Wisconsin recruits Breann Frykas and Saige Pacholok have been named to Canada's Under-18 National Team. The 20-player roster will compete in the 2009 IIHF World Women 's Under-18 Championship Jan. 5-10 in Fussen, Germany.
Both Frykas and Pacholok were part of the roster that took part in a three-game series with the USA's Women's Under-18 Select Team in Lake Placid, NY in August. Canada lost two out of the three games in the series, winning the final game 3-2 in overtime. Frykas scored the game-winning goal in overtime to beat Johnson's U.S. U18 women's team in the final game of the series.
Frykas and Pacholok will face future teammate, Brianna Decker and Head Coach Mark Johnson who will be with the U.S. U18 team.
Pacholok, a defenseman from Edmonton, Alberta is currently playing on the Edmonton Chimos but has significant experience with Team Canada.
Frykas, a forward from East St. Paul, Manitoba is currently a member of the Detroit Little Caesars. Prior to the Little Caesars Frykas won the Balmoral Hall, Hartney and Saskatoon tournaments with the Balmoral Hall Blazers in 2007-08.
Both will join the Wisconsin roster in the fall of 2009. The Badgers continue their series with St Cloud State Saturday at 2 p.m.
