The year 2008 has been a memorable one for both the UW men's and women 's basketball teams but it's just about time to say goodbye to '08 and look forward to everything 2009 has in store. Both teams were busy during the holiday with the men's team defeating Michigan 73-61 on New Year's Eve to close out 2008 on a high note and the women's team looks to ring in 2009 with a win over Illinois on New Year's Day.
A new year brings new resolutions and the Badgers have plenty of them; whether they keep them remains to be seen. Read on to find out what the UW basketball players resolve to do in 2009 and have a safe and Happy New Year!
Men's basketball team
Jason Bohannon - To get to one of my brother's high school basketball games this year. He's a senior in Marion, Iowa.
Joe Krabbenhoft - To not commit any more turnovers. None. Ever.
Jordan Taylor - To start making shots in games.
Jon Leuer - To not lose anything in 2009. I keep losing things like my iPod. I've got to try to stop that.
Tim Jarmusz - To find a summer internship that will help my business understanding.
Henry Perez-Guerra (trainer) - To not swear so much.
Trevon Hughes - To get my mom to a game in Madison. She's never been to one in the Kohl Center.
Assistant Coach Howard Moore - To exercise more and drink less soda (more juice).
Women's basketball team
Teah Gant ' To sleep more.
Mariah Dunham ' To become more organized.
Tara Steinbauer ' To call home more often.
Jamie Russell ' To gain 10 more pounds, maybe 15. I want to do that by eating more.
Assistant Coach Ty Margenthaler ' To be the best person I can be in all aspects of my life and to have a better attitude.
Assistant Coach Oties Epps ' To beat Illinois.
