Last season, to show his appreciation of all the fan support enjoyed by the Wisconsin football team, Head Coach staffid=559"> --> Bret Bielema rewarded members of the general public with a trip to the bowl game.
This season, in an effort to recognize the support from the student body, Emily Jayne of Ashwabanon, Wis. and Heidi Mielke of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. have been selected to represent the student body at the upcoming bowl game, courtesy of Coach Bielema.
Jayne and Mielke found out about their good fortune Saturday night at the Kohl Center when they were presented with their bowl trip and got to meet Coach Bielema on the court during the Wisconsin's Men's Basketball against Green Bay.
'This is so exciting,' said Mielke, who has never been to a bowl game. 'I had no idea he was going to surprise us with the trip at the game. '
Jayne, Mielke and their guests will enjoy a trip to the Champs Sports Bowl provided by and paid for by Coach Bielema. They will receive a three-day, two-night trip to Orlando, including accommodations at the team hotel and tickets to support the Badgers when they face Florida State in the Champs Sports Bowl.
The UW Athletic Department thanks Emily, Heidi and all students for their continued support of Wisconsin Athletics.
