Toy Drive Set for UWM Game
December 12, 2006 | Men's Basketball
Fans attending the Wisconsin men's basketball game against UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday, Dec. 13 are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation. Prior to the game, UW student-athletes will be collecting the toys and cash donations as part of the annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Toy Drive.
'UW-Madison student-athletes would like to ask for your support in our upcoming holiday toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots at the men's basketball game on December 13,' Susan Masterson, a member of the women's rowing team and event organizer, said. 'If you would like to donate, you can bring a new unwrapped toy or a monetary donation to the game. Thank you in advance for your support and go Badgers."
The collected items will be donated to Toys for Tots and distributed to underprivileged children in the greater-Madison area. Last year, a mini-van full of toys and $475 were collected in the inaugural event.
