Badgers Battle Demon Deacons in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

The Wisconsin men's basketball team (4-0) hits the road for its match-up against Wake Forest (5-1) in the seventh annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge at 6 p.m. CT at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. ESPN will provide live television coverage.
The Badgers are coming off a 92-54 win over Coastal Carolina in the 2005 regular season home opener last Saturday at the Kohl Center. Junior guard Kammron Taylor led the team with 20 points and is averaging 18.5 points heading into Tuesday 's game. Besides Taylor, three other Badgers are averaging double figures, including junior Alando Tucker (18.3 ppg), sophomore Brian Butch (15.0 ppg) and freshman Marcus Landry (11.3 ppg).
As for No. 24 Wake Forest, the team heads into the contest with a three-game winning streak and a 20-game home winning streak. The Demon Deacons posted a 91-78 win over Appalachian State 91-78 last Friday night.
Senior Trent Strickland leads Wake Forest with 17.8 ppg and 8.8 rebounds per game. Senior Justin Gray also contributes 16.5 ppg while senior Eric Williams adds 16.0 ppg and 8.5 rebounds per game.
'The thing is Wake Forest has outside shooters,' Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan said. 'They've got scorers. They really don't have a weakness.'
This will be the third meeting between the Badgers and Demon Deacons with Wake Forest winning both contests. For the past two years, Wisconsin faced Maryland in the Challenge and split the series with a home win in 2004 and a loss at College Park in 2003. The Badgers are 2-4 overall in the Challenge.
