University of Wisconsin junior Alando Tucker was named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week following his performance in the Paradise Jam Tournament this past weekend, the Conference office announced today.
Tucker established a tournament record with a career-high 38 points while adding 10 rebounds for his fifth career double-double in a 95-89 (2OT) victory over Eastern Kentucky Saturday night. His 38-point performance tied for the fourth-most in UW history and is the most scored by a Big Ten player since former Badger Devin Harris tallied 38 points against Minnesota on Feb. 4, 2004.
The Lockport, Ill., native earns his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award, and he shares it with Indiana's Marco Killingsworth.
Tucker will try to lead the Badgers to the tournament title tonight when they take on Old Dominion in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. CT.
