Badgers Face No. 13 Alabama
December 29, 2004 | Men's Basketball
The Wisconsin men's basketball team (8-2) wraps up its non-conference schedule when it hosts Alabama (10-1) tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:31 p.m. CT at the 17,142-seat Kohl Center.
The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2 (Dan Shulman and Steve Lavin). It can be also heard live on the 46-city Wisconsin Radio Network (Matt Lepay and Mike Lucas). WIBA (1310 am/101.5 fm) will carry the game in Madison.
UW is coming off an 89-49 win over Western Carolina on Monday. Alabama has not played since defeating Texas A&M-CC, 76-54, on Dec. 22.
The Badgers recorded their school-record 35th consecutive home win with an 89-49 victory over Western Carolina on Monday. That is the longest current home winning streak in the country (Oklahoma State has the second-longest streak in the nation with 22 straight home wins).
Sophomore Alando Tucker has recorded double-doubles in each of the last two games. He had 21 points and a season-high 15 rebounds vs. UNC Greensboro then came back with 21 points and 10 boards against WCU. He is the first Badger to have consecutive double-doubles since Mike Wilkinson did so last season.
Wisconsin defeated No. 12 Maryland, 69-64, on Nov. 30. The Badgers have now won four of their last six games against teams ranked in the top 25. They are 6-0 against ranked teams at home in Bo Ryan's four seasons as head coach.
