Badgers Play Host to Spartans This Evening
December 23, 2004 | Men's Basketball
The Wisconsin men's basketball team will put its nation's-best 33-game home winning streak on the line at 7 p.m. this evening as the Badgers play host to UNC Greensboro at the Kohl Center.
The game will not be televised. It can be heard live on the 46-city Wisconsin Radio Network (Matt Lepay and Mike Lucas). WIBA (1310 am/101.5 fm) will carry the game in Madison.
Tonight's game will be the first-ever meeting between the Badgers (6-2) and the Spartans (7-2). Wisconsin is 3-1 all-time against teams from the Southern Conference, including a 75-49 win over College of Charleston last season.
Both of UNCG's losses this season have come to top-25 opponents. The Spartans dropped a 98-44 decision at No. 9 Duke on Nov. 27 and lost 83-58 at No. 23 Iowa Dec. 4.
UNCG is coming off an 84-62 win over William & Mary on Monday. This will be Wisconsin's first game in eight days. UW defeated UW-Milwaukee 66-37 last Wednesday before taking the past week off due to final exams.
