Badgers Face UWM Tonight
December 15, 2004 | Men's Basketball
Wisconsin (5-2) begins a four-game homestand tonight vs. UW-Milwaukee (6-1). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT at the 17,142-seat Kohl Center.
The game will be televised live by ESPN Plus with WISC showing the game in Madison (Wayne Larrivee and former Badger standout Mike Kelley). The game will also be shown on WACY in the Green Bay-Appleton area, WLAX in the La Crosse-Eau Claire area and WMLW in the Milwaukee area. It can also be heard live on the 46-city Wisconsin Radio Network (Matt Lepay and Mike Lucas). WIBA (1310 am/101.5 fm) will carry the game in Madison.
UW is coming off a 63-54 loss at Marquette on Saturday. UW-Milwaukee is 6-1 after suffering its first loss of the season, 72-71, at Valparaiso on Saturday.
With its win over UW-Green Bay on Dec. 7, UW now owns the longest current home winning streak in the country at 32 games. Oklahoma State and Western Michigan are tied for the second-longest in the nation with 21 straight home wins. It is the second-longest streak in school history, behind a 33-game stretch from March 8, 1911 to Jan. 23, 1915. Wisconsin went undefeated at home in 2003-04 for the first time since 1929-30.
UW is 9-2 against in-state opponents under Bo Ryan and has won 18 of the last 20 games against UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee and Marquette. The Badgers are 12-0 against their in-state rivals at the Kohl Center.
Following tonight's game, the Badgers do not play again until hosting UNC-Greensboro on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.
