Pepperdine Hands Badgers 75-61 Loss

Pepperdine opened the second half on a 25-4 run on its way to handing the 20th-ranked Wisconsin men's basketball team its first loss of the season, 75-61 Saturday evening.
The teams were tied 34-34 at halftime, but the Waves outscored the Badgers 41-27 in the second half to earn the win.
Wisconsin falls to 2-1 overall with the loss, while Pepperdine improves to 4-1.
Senior forward Glen McGowan scored 19 of his 29 points after halftime to help lead the Waves to the upset victory. Alando Tucker led the Badgers with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field, while Kammron Taylor chipped in with 15.
UW was held scoreless for over six minutes early in the second half as Pepperdine went on the game's decisive run. After shooting 50 percent from the field in the first half, the Badgers connected on just 8-of-25 shots (32 percent) after the intermission.
Wisconsin will return to action at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Maryland as part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
