Lindenmuth Named Offensive Player of the Week

Junior midfielder/forward Katy Lindenmuth (Geneva, Ill.) was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for helping the University of Wisconsin women's soccer team to two victories over the weekend, the conference office announced.
Lindenmuth's five points over the past two contests are part of the reason why the Badgers (13-4-1) are sporting a five-match winning streak. She is currently second on the team in points (14), goals (7) and assists (7).
'Katy has been playing well all season long,' head coach Dean Duerst said. 'She's a very consistent player, and she was making some critical plays over the weekend.'
Last Thursday, Lindenmuth assisted on the insurance goal as Wisconsin topped UW-Milwaukee 2-0 on the road. The triumph broke the Panthers' eight-match undefeated streak of 7-0-1.
At home Sunday against UW-Green Bay, Lindenmuth tallied two goals to give UW an eventual 5-1 victory and an 11-0-0 all-time advantage in the series. She now has more goals than she had all of last season, a year in which she was named second-team All-Big Ten.
Lindenmuth and the Badgers will play out their regular-season schedule this week, first facing Marquette at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Milwaukee.
