Mason Suspension Modified by Appeals Committee
December 04, 2003 | Football
The Appeals Committee of the University of Wisconsin's Student-Athlete Discipline Policy modified the Dec. 2 suspension of freshman football player Ernest Mason for a violation of the athletic department's conduct code.
Bruce Jones, chair of the Appeals Committee and also chair of the institution's Athletic Board, made the announcement Thursday.
Mason can return to competition and practice with the team immediately, pending additional information that might cause the Appeals Committee to re-evaluate his situation.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects any additional information regarding disciplinary decisions of a student-athlete.
