MacMillan Earns Second WCHA Award in Three Weeks

Senior goaltender Jackie MacMillan (Buffalo, Minn.) is the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after earning her 15th career shutout in a game against Bemidji State last weekend.
MacMillan stopped 32 of 34 Beaver shots in the UW's 2-2 tie and 4-0 win over the weekend. In the tie, MacMillan made 18 saves and helped the UW kill three power plays. The senior then turned away 14 shots in the 4-0 win, her third shutout in her last five games played. She helped kill five power plays in the blanking, including a minute-long five-on-three BSU advantage.
MacMillan, the WCHA career leader with 63 wins and 15 shutouts, posted a 0.96 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in the two-game series. For the season, MacMillan is 10-4-4 with a 2.07 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
MacMillan and the Badgers (10-4-4, 4-4-4 WCHA) are out of action until Jan. 7 when they visit St. Lawrence to begin an eight-day road trip that includes stops in Montreal and Toronto, Canada. The Badgers will face McGill University, the school where ice hockey was first played, and the Brampton Thunder, a team from the National Women 's Hockey League, during the trip.
