Badgers Sweep Exhibition Season With 82-57 Win Over AIA

The Wisconsin men's basketball team completed a sweep of its two-game exhibition season this evening, beating Athletes in Action 82-57. Four UW players scored in double figures, as freshman guard Devin Harris led the group with 19 points.
Junior Kirk Penney contributed 15 points, Mike Wilkinson put up 13 and Charlie Wills added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Wisconsin held a 41-33 advantage at the half, led by Wilkinson 's 11 points on a 4-of-4 shooting effort that included three 3-pointers. After leading by ten for most of the second half, the Badgers went on a 15-1 run to go ahead by 24, at 78-54, with 3:46 remaining in the game.
The Badgers shot 52 percent from the field and forced 15 turnovers, while giving up the ball only eight times. Joe Smith led Athletes in Action in scoring with 18 points on the night.
Wisconsin opens its regular season on the road Saturday, tipping off at UNLV at 9:30 p.m. CT. Following their game in Las Vegas, the Badgers head directly to Hawaii for the City Bank/Aloha Airlines Big Island Invitational on Nov. 23-25.
