Emily DeRatt serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics & Career, where she leads the Academics & Career unit in delivering holistic support and development for student-athletes. In this role, she oversees a dedicated team focused on academic success, career preparation, and personal growth, helping student-athletes thrive during their collegiate journey and beyond.
Originally from Cary, North Carolina, Emily brings over a decade of experience in student-athlete services. Prior to her current position, she spent nearly seven years at Baylor University as Assistant AD for Academic Services, where she led academic support for football and several Olympic sports, created a young professional development program, and contributed to strategic planning efforts within the department. During her time a Baylor, she also served as a secondary sport administrator for the track & field and softball programs, providing additional support and leadership beyond academics.
Emily began her career at NC State University, holding multiple roles supporting student-athletes and assisting with the coordination of tutoring and academic skills programming. She later served as an Academic Advisor at Temple University, where she worked closely with football and gymnastics student-athletes.
She earned her Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
