Wisconsin Badgers

Duane Cooper joined Wisconsin Athletics as the Associate Director of Employer Relations in the fall of 2022. He brings 16 years of University of Wisconsin-Madison career services experience into this role. Cooper will serve as the point of contact for employers who are looking to hire our current student athletes for both internship and full-time job positions as well as helping to connect former student athletes to potential job opportunities. He will also help employers develop strategies for success in recruiting within Wisconsin Athletics.

Prior to joining Wisconsin Athletics, Cooper spent six years working in SuccessWorks which is the career services office for the College of Letters & Science here at UW. In this role he worked with employer partners to develop hiring strategies and campus connections and work with first generation and underrepresented student populations to connect them with internships opportunities.

Cooper’s first 10 years here at UW-Madison he worked in the Wisconsin School of Business career services office where he was in charge of career fairs and employer events in the undergraduate program. He also worked with employers to establish recruiting strategies to reach their recruiting/hiring goals.

He is a 2005 graduate of Illinois State University, where he earned B.S. in Sociology. He is from Normal, Ill., and currently lives in Madison with his wife Suzanne and their twins Logan and Brynn.
