Daronte Jones comes to the Badgers from Hawai'i, where he spent the last three seasons overseeing the Warriors' secondary. Jones added the title of assistant head coach in 2014. 

Led by All-Mountain West Conference pick Mike Edwards at cornerback, the Warriors ranked 11th nationally in passing defense in 2012, allowing 182.8 yards per game. Last season, the Warriors ranked fifth in the Mountain West in scoring defense and sixth in total defense. 

Prior to Hawai'i, Jones spent the 2011 season as defensive backs coach for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League and the 2010 season as a graduate assistant at UCLA. His career also includes stops at Bowie State, Nicholls State and Lenoir-Rhyne. 

A native of Capital Heights, Maryland, Jones graduated from Morgan State in 2001 after a four-year playing career for the Bears.
