Helling leads Badgers on Friday in Chicago
CHICAGO - The Wisconsin women's cross country team placed 15th on Friday morning at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course in Chicago
UW was led by senior Mikaela Helling, who finished the 6K race in 20 minutes, 24.80 seconds to finish 58th. Junior Liv Phillips was close behind, placing 63rd in 20:27.53. Freshman Emmerson Drobac was the third Badger to cross the line in 20:34.84 to take 74th.
Rounding out the scoring for UW was freshman Ella Anschutz in 20:54.48 (95th) and Myra Stray in 21:01.02 (100th).
In the open race, Emma Kruse led the Badgers, clocking in at 20:59.25 to finish in 11th.
UP NEXT: The Badgers will return home to wrap up regular-season racing with the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour on Friday, Oct. 9 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The women's "A" race is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. with the men's "A" race to follow at 11:10 a.m. The meet features 20 ranked men's teams and 18 ranked women's teams.
