Wisconsin looks to build on six-match unbeaten streak
MADISON, Wis.- No. 14 Wisconsin women's soccer (5-1-2, 1-0-1 Big Ten) continues conference play on Sunday, Sept. 20, welcoming Indiana (4-3-1, 1-1-0) to McClimon Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT, with the match streaming on B1G+
1. A History with Indiana
Wisconsin leads the all-time series against Indiana, 17-11-3, according to Indiana's complete series history. The Badgers have won each of the last two meetings and are 6-3-1 over the last 10 match ups.
The teams last met on Oct. 13, 2024, when Wisconsin earned a 1-0 victory in Bloomington. The last meeting at McClimon came in 2022, when the Badgers shut out the Hoosiers, 2-0. Wisconsin holds an 8-4-2 all-time record against Indiana in Madison.
2. Know the Hoosiers
Indiana enters Sunday with a 4-3-1 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers opened conference action with a 1-0 road win over Nebraska before falling, 3-0, to No. 6 Ohio State in their most recent match.
Through eight matches, Indiana has scored 12 goals while attempting 101 shots. Maggie Ledwith and Bella Haggerty lead the Hoosiers with three goals apiece, while Kennedy Neighbors has added two. Ledwith leads the team with eight points on three goals and two assists.
3. Freshman Impact
Wisconsin's freshman class has made an immediate impact this season, with Jane Rogers, Margaret Sisk and Izy Traub combining for seven goals and nine assists through the Badgers' first eight matches.
Sisk has scored three goals, including goals in three consecutive matches against UIC, Milwaukee and Central Michigan. Rogers has added two goals and two assists while starting all eight matches.
Traub has been one of Wisconsin's top playmakers, leading the team with seven assists. She recorded three assists against Central Michigan before assisting on both goals in Wisconsin's 2-0 win over Northwestern. After her performance against Northwestern Traub earned her first ever Big Ten honors, nabbing Freshman of the Week.
4. Last Time Out
Wisconsin earned its first Big Ten victory of the season with a 2-0 shutout of Northwestern on Sept. 13. Anya Gulbrandsen opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Erin Connolly added the second goal in the 68th. Izy Traub assisted on both goals.
The Badgers outshot Northwestern 10-6 and held a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal. Drew Stover made one save to secure the clean sheet, Wisconsin's second in as many matches. The victory extended the Badgers' unbeaten streak to six matches
