Badgers add 25-year NFL front office veteran
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin football announced the addition of Morocco Brown as the program's General Manager on Thursday. Brown joins the Badgers after a 25-year career in the NFL front offices of the Colts, Browns, Commanders and Bears.
Â
As General Manager, Brown will oversee all roster management, player personnel and operations for Wisconsin Football, working alongside head coach Luke Fickell and his staff.
Â
"We are thrilled about bringing an innovative and experienced leader to Wisconsin," said Interim Director of Athletics Marcus Sedberry. "Morocco has an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise in building rosters and personnel strategy at the NFL level. He will play a significant role in helping us continue to elevate Wisconsin Football."
Â
"I'm excited and extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the Wisconsin Badgers football program as their new General Manager," Brown said. "I look forward to working in lockstep with Coach Fickell and truly believe that we can create something special in Madison together. God is great, all things are possible, and let's go Badger Nation!"
Â
Brown comes to Wisconsin after eight seasons working with the Colts as the Chief Personnel Executive (2023-25) and Director of College Scouting (2017-22). Working under former Wisconsin football player and current Colts General Manager Chris Ballard, Brown managed Indianapolis's college football department and contributed to the franchise's annual roster breakdown.
Â
Prior to his time with the Colts, Brown served as the Vice President of Player Personnel for the Cleveland Browns (2014-16). He also spent six years as a Director of Pro Personnel for the Washington Commanders (2008-13), including the 2012 NFC East Championship season.
Â
Following scouting internships with the Colts and Commanders, Brown's first full-time role came as an Assistant Director of Pro Personnel with the Chicago Bears for seven years (2001-08), helping the franchise to three NFC North titles and an appearance in the 2007 Super Bowl.
Â
"Morocco is a great addition to our program and our staff is looking forward to working with him," Fickell said. "He brings a lot of NFL experience and has an eye for what it takes to excel at both the collegiate level as well as professional football. He has been evaluating college players for years and will be a strong asset to both our current roster as well as building for the future."
Â
A 1999 graduate of NC State, Brown was a four-year letterwinner and served as team captain his senior season. As a middle linebacker, he led the Wolfpack in tackles for three straight seasons and was twice named honorable mention All-ACC. Brown and his wife, Kendra, have two sons, Macari and Macaiden, as well as a daughter, Makailyn.
