Sheffield signs L/DS to roster
MADISON, Wis. – Head coach Kelly Sheffield finalizes the 2026-27 Wisconsin volleyball roster with the signing of libero/defensive specialist Alyssa Konrad.
A versatile athlete, Konrad has experience playing outside, right side, and libero in both her high school varsity team, Madison Memorial, and club team the Madtown Juniors.
"Alyssa is a great story," Badger head coach Kelly Sheffield said. "She is from Madison and has been coming to matches since she was little. She came to our prospect camp last week with the intention of earning a spot on our roster. She had a fantastic camp! Her defense really stood out the entire time. I'm looking forward to having Alyssa be a part of our team this season."
At Madison Memorial, the 5-foot-10 local is a three-time All-Conference recipient and was a team captain. In 2024 and 2025 she helped her team to a Regional Championship and Sectional Runner-Up. In addition to volleyball, Konrad played softball and helped the team to a Regional Championship this season and named First Team All-Conference.
Why Wisconsin: "I chose Wisconsin because growing up in Madison allowed me to attend many Badger camps and matches as a kid. I always looked up to the players and resonated with the culture of this program. It's a dream come true to play at the place that had a huge impact on my volleyball career."
