Langseth leads Badgers on Day 2 of Big Tens

Senior places fifth in shot put on Saturday
LINCOLN, Neb. – Wisconsin women's track and field senior Danni Langseth collected a top-five finish in the shot put to lead the Badgers on the second day of the 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Nebraska Track Facility.
Langseth launched a personal-best throw of 55 feet, 9 inches (16.99m) to not only finish fifth in the competition, but to also move up to No. 5 on the program's top-10 list.Â
Teammate Zonica Lindeque was 20th with a mark of 50-5 ¼ (15.37m) while Hadley Lucas was close behind with a heave of 48-9 to finish 24th.
Maggie Munson placed 11th in the steeplechase thanks to a time of 10 minutes, 30.45 seconds. That time ranks No. 9 on UW's top-10 list.
Elissa Perkins set a PR in the long jump, soaring 19-9 1/2 (6.03m), to finish 11th in the competition. Perkins just missed making the top-10 list by 1 ½ inches. She will return to action on Sunday, competing in the triple jump at 10:10 a.m.Â
Emma Kruse also posted a personal-best showing in the 800 meters as the freshman finished the two-lap race in 2:07.61.Â
Luciana Aizpurua led the Badger quartet in the women's 100 meters, finishing in 11.74 seconds.Â
Shaina Zinter took fifth in the heptathlon javelin with a toss of 124-10 (38.05m) and was not able to finish either the heptathlon long jump or 800 meters. It marked her final meet as a Badger as she won the 2024 Big Ten Heptathlon.
