4-1 victory sends Badgers to Big Ten quarterfinal matchup with Michigan
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 6-seeded Wisconsin women's tennis team defeated No. 11-seeded Iowa, 4-1, Thursday night in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Badgers came out sharp in doubles play, securing the point in just 30 minutes with wins on courts one and two.
Wisconsin carried that momentum into singles, where play remained efficient throughout. Kaede Usui was first off the court with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory. Kája Jacobson clinched the match for the Badgers in three sets, sealing Wisconsin's spot in the quarterfinals.
The Badgers will face No. 3-seeded Michigan on Friday, April 24 at 3:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
