
Five things to know: Men’s tennis heads to Lincoln, Nebraska

No. 36 Wisconsin faces No. 49 Nebraska on Saturday
1 – WEEKEND SWEEP – The Badgers impressed the home crowd over the weekend, scoring 4-0 victories against both No. 46 Oregon and Washington. After winning the doubles point against the Ducks, Wisconsin quickly secured the Friday night win with singles victories at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6. On Sunday, the Badgers took down the Huskies in similar fashion, securing the doubles point and earning match wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 to complete the sweep.
2 – SOPHOMORES IMPRESS – The sophomore class consisting of Edouard Aubert, Ferdinand Kloesters, Sachiv Kumar, and Patrik Meszaros went a combined 4-0 in doubles play and 5-0 in singles action. Kloesters and Meszaros both earned two doubles victories over the weekend with their respective partners.
Kloesters and Kumar led the way in singles play, dominating in every match over the weekend. Kloesters defeated both Oregon and Washington's No. 3 opponent in straight sets, dropping just six total games over the weekend. Kumar also defeated both of his opponents at No. 6 singles in straight set fashion. Aubert added a 6-0, 6-2 victory of his own against Washington's No. 4 singles.
3 – KNOW YOUR OPPONENT – In the all-time series against Nebraska, the Badgers hold a 14-9 edge. In last season's match the Huskers left Madison after completing a 4-0 sweep. This spring Nebraska holds a 10-9 record and is 2-6 in conference play. Nikolay Sysoev leads the team in singles play, and earned the No. 107 spot in this week's ITA rankings.
