UW finishes in seventh

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Wisconsin women's golf senior Alexia Siehl finished 13th as UW took seventh overall during the Shootout at Wachesaw in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Monday.

The Badgers played 36-holes on Monday, placing three in the top-25 during Monday's one-day event.

Siehl went +4 on the card, firing two 74s. She used a front-nine, bogey-free, -1 in Round 1 to carry momentum on the leaderboard. The South Carolinian had the field's third-best Par 5 scoring at -1 in her home state.

Redshirt junior Tammy Wu took 19th in the field, going +6 overall. She dropped a 74 in the first round to cement herself in the field's top half.

Kate Brody finished 22nd at +7. The Michigan native was accurate on the Par 3s, going -1 across the eight holes on the day.

True freshman Elyssa Abdullah scored in both rounds for UW, finishing 35th at +9. Grace Slocum rounded out the UW lineup in 38th, going +12.

Competing individually, Hadley Ashton took 40th.

Up Next: The team next competes at the MountainView Collegiate at MountainView Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona from March 20-22, hosted by Missouri.
