
Badgers finish 9th in first tournament of 2026

Grace Slocum leads UW at +13 in Arizona
TUCSON, Ariz. --Â The Wisconsin women's golf team finished ninth in their spring season-opener at the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate at the Tucson Country Club. They shot +49, overall, and ousted six teams, including the No. 20 Oklahoma State.Â
Tammy Wu led Bucky in the final round at +3, finishing 47th in the field. She started her back-nine with two-straight birdies to close the back frame at -1.
True freshman Grace Slocm led the team in 34th-place at +13. She scored for UW in all three rounds, including a +3, 75, in the opening round. Kate Brody was one stroke behind her in 39th at +14, birdying her first hole of Round 3 to gain momentum.
Alexia Siehl closed her tournament in 42nd at +15 thanks to a 74 in the second round. Izzi Stricker rounded out the UW lineup, scoring in Round 1 and 3 with a +4 final round on Tuesday.
Up Next: The Badgers take a week off before heading back down to Arizona to host the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Golf Club in Peoria. They'll tee off on Sunday, Feb. 22, with 36-hole, before closing play on Monday.
Siehl paced Bucky at +6, landing in 27th, overall. The senior teed off her final spring campaign, stringing together a stretch of nine-straight pars, or under, earning two birdies in the spurt. She also notched the third-highest Par 3 scoring average, going one-under.Â
Slocum led UW after Round 1, tallying a 75, before ultimately finishing 36th at +8. Brody joined her in the top-45 at +9, finishing 41st.
Wu and Stricker split the scoring, with Stricker going +7 in the first round, while Wu turned it on in the second with a +2, 74.Â
