Wisconsin improves to 3-0-0 on the season
MANKATO, Minn. — No. 7 Wisconsin scored twice in a 39-second span of the first period on its way to a 4-0 shutout over No. 19 Minnesota State on Friday at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.

Grady Deering scored his second goal of the season, swooping behind the net before slipping the puck past the Mavericks' goaltender to close out the scoring in the third period.

- Cournoyer's shutout after Daniel Hauser blanked Robert Morris last Saturday makes it the first time two different Badger goaltenders have produced consecutive shutouts since Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, 2023, when William Gramme and Kyle McClellan blanked Alaska Anchorage and Ohio State in consecutive games.
- Head coach Mike Hastings, along with associate head coach Todd Knott, strength and conditioning coach Tommy Inkrott and director of hockey operations Luke Regner each returned to play in Mankato for the first time since departing Minnesota State and helping with the Wisconsin program prior to the 2023-24 season.
