Grady Deering tallies game's only goal on the power play
MADISON, Wis. — Grady Deering's second-period power-play goal provided all the offense No. 6 Wisconsin needed in a 1-0 shutout over Robert Morris on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
After a scoreless first period the Badgers came out to the ice with a new hunger. After back-to-back power plays for the Badgers, Deering redirected a point shot from Logan Hensler to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead.

The Badgers outshot Robert Morris, 43-18 for the game and hit three posts, but failed to find insurance.
On the back end, Daniel Hauser was perfect, getting help from the players in front of him, including sophomore, Bruno Idžan, who provided a clean back check on a Robert Morris breakaway in the third period.

Head Coach Mike Hastings
On the Badgers' first series sweep
"Our guys take an incredible amount of pride in representing, first and foremost, themselves and their families, but definitely the University of Wisconsin. And it was a good day in Wisconsin today."
Forward Grady Deering
On mindset heading into Game 2
"Just keep getting stronger, keep getting faster. It's also just the mental side of it, too. To be able to take what happened Friday night, whether it was good or bad, learn from it, and just kind of reset Saturday and get right back to it."
Goalie Daniel Hauser
On first shutout of the season
"I see how hard the guys work in practice, you know, it all starts in practice, and we've been detailed in practice. It shows up in games and they helped me out a lot tonight, and I tried my best to help them too."
