Wisconsin men's crew heads to Massachusetts for conference championships

MADISON, Wis. - The No.12 Wisconsin men's rowing team will compete in the 78th annual Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges Championships, known as the Eastern Sprints, this Sunday in Worcester, Massachusetts.

1. WHAT TO KNOW -- The Badgers will head back to the East Coast, this time on Lake Quinsigamond. The crew has had previous success at the event, including varsity eight and Rowe Cup team titles in 1946, 2002 and 2008.

Last year, the Badgers finished 14th in the varsity eight and second varsity eight and 13th in the fourth varsity eight. Wisconsin will compete against 15 other schools, including opponents from earlier in the season, such as No.15 Georgetown, No. 4 Dartmouth, No. 14 Cornell, No. 5 Princeton, No. 13 Boston University.

2. WHERE THEY LEFT OFF -- Wisconsin attended the Lake Morey Invite in Fairlee, Vermont, to compete against Dartmouth and Georgetown. The Badgers raced past Georgetown in both the varsity eight and second varsity eight races. The third varsity eight beat out Georgetown again, falling between Dartmouth and Georgetown.

3. SENIOR BADGERS -- The crew has 13 graduating seniors: Henry Benton, Ethan Dooley, Jaden Halom, Daniel Hintzman, Will Klipstine, Dylan Knanishu, Mitchell Lafferty, Jack O'Brien, Charles Ramquist, Liam Smith, Walter Stanwood, and Luke Truog.

4. WHERE TO NEXT -- Should the Badgers qualify, they will take their final bow and compete in the 2025 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships from May 30 to June 1 in Camden, New Jersey.
