All-American setter earns weekly award for fourth time this season
MADISON, Wis. – For the fourth time this season, and in back-to-back weeks, Wisconsin volleyball's Charlie Fuerbringer has been named Big Ten Setter of the Week.
Sophomore Charlie Fuerbringer led the Badgers to another 2-0 week with sweeps over No. 11 Purdue and Iowa. Fuerbringer tallied back-to-back doubles for her fifth and sixth of the season and 16th of her career. In six sets, Fuerbringer averaged 14.50 assists, 3.33 digs per set, and chipped in with 0.67 blocks per set. The Badgers hit it's highest hitting percentage this season over the Hawkeyes at .510 where Fuerbringer totaled 49 assists (.645 set percentage) alone.
Since Fuerbringer's return, the Badgers are 5-0 with two ranked wins, while hitting .366 as a team, averaging 16.60 kills per set, 15.93 assists per set, and 15.40 digs per set.
The Badgers wrap up conference play this week with trips to Northwestern and Minnesota.
