Badgers end the season 14-6-2
SOUTH BEND Ind. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Baylor on Thursday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Alumni Stadium.
How it Happened
First Half
Wisconsin controlled the early tempo, generating seven shots and three corners in the opening 45 minutes. Adee Boer and Maddie Ishaug each forced Baylor goalkeeper Azul Alvarez into saves, while the Badgers continued to apply pressure.
A foul in the box set up a penalty in the 44th minute, the Bears were able to take a 1–0 lead. Wisconsin entered the break trailing despite holding advantages in shots (7–6), shots on goal (4–2), and possession.
Second Half
The Badgers came out of the locker room with urgency, dominating possession and unleashing 13 second-half shots. Boer continued to lead the attack with multiple attempts, including two near equalizers.
Wisconsin earned seven corners in the second half and created several chances in the box, including looks from Brooke Allen, Ashley Martinez, and Ella Ottey. Goalkeeper Drew Stover kept Wisconsin within striking distance with four total saves, including two key stops early in the half to keep the deficit at one.
Despite the late push, the Badgers were unable to find an equalizer.
Wisconsin finished the match leading in shots (20–10), shots on goal (7–5), possession (57%–43%), and corners (10–3).
