Starting Five: Wisconsin closes three-game homestand with Green Bay

Badgers look to extend unbeaten home streak

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team will wrap up a three game homestand by hosting Green Bay on Sunday, Nov 16. Tip is set for 2:00 p.m. (CT), with streaming available on B1G+ and radio coverage on 1070 The Game and the iHeartRadio app.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers face the Phoenix:

1. BADGER SPOTLIGHT: Junior guard Kyrah Daniels has emerged as one of the Badgers' most reliable scoring options, averaging 13.0 points per game. She is coming off a season-best 21-point outing against Bowling Green, where she knocked down five threes and set the tone for Wisconsin's perimeter attack.

In the paint, senior forward Gift Uchenna continues to anchor the interior, averaging 10.0 points and a team-leading 7.5 rebounds per game. Her work on the glass has helped elevate Wisconsin to 38.8 rebounds per game and has been crucial in extending possessions while limiting opponents' second-chance opportunities. Alongside her, freshman center Dorja Zaja is averaging 3.5 blocks per game, leading the conference and ranking among the nation's top rim protectors.

2. HISTORY VS. GREEN BAY: This will be the 36th all-time meeting between Wisconsin and Green Bay with the first match up coming in 1975.

Green Bay won the most recent matchup in 2022 by a score of 70-60, but Wisconsin leads the overall series at home (11-8). Historically the in-state rivalry has been tight, with many meetings decided by single digits.

3. SCOUTING THE PHOENIX: Green Bay enters the game at a perfect 4-0. The Phoenix are averaging 70.8 points per game while holding opponents to just 47.5. They are shooting 48.2% from the field and 35.5% from three, all while committing only 12.5 turnovers per game. On the boards, Green Bay is pulling down 36.0 rebounds per game and limiting opponents to 33.0.

4. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin is coming off an impressive performance taking down Bowling Green 90-78. The Badgers shot an impressive 54.5% from the field and 38.5% from three while recording season highs in assists (26), fast-break points (27), and points in the paint (48). All five starters scored in double figures with Daniels leading the way with 21 points.

5. LOOKING AHEAD: Wisconsin heads to UIC on Wednesday, Nov. 19, for its second road game of the season. The matchup will air on ESPN+ with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
