Badgers take sixth at Big Tens

Mikaela Helling leads Badgers with her personal best
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Thanks to a stellar showing by sophomore Mikaela Helling, the Wisconsin women's cross country team placed sixth at the 2025 Big Ten Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.
Wisconsin finished with 164 points thanks in part to Helling turning in a personal best time of 20 minutes, 33.2 seconds to finish first for UW. The sophomore finished 21st overall. Helling notched her previous personal best at the 2024 Big Tens with a time of 20:59.2.
Kylie Finger was the second Badger to cross the finish line, coming in 30th overall, covering the 6K course in 20:46.4.
Nora Gremban finished in 34th in 20:52.1, Leané Willemse placed 38th in 20:53.5 and Sara Mlodik rounded out the scorers, taking 41st in 20:58.0. Mlodik earned Freshman All-Big Ten Honors for her showing.
Oregon took home the title with 18 points while Oregon freshman Diana Cherotitch won with a time of 19:31.3 The Ducks were followed by Penn State with 78 points and Northwestern with 96.
Up next: After a two week break, UW will travel to Evansville, Indiana for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional race. The race will be held on Nov.14 at the Angel Mounds State Historic Site. The women's 6K is set to start at 10:35 a.m. CT.
