Five players score in double digits to snap losing streak

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team (11-10, 2-8 Big Ten) broke their eight-game losing streak with a dominate 82-75 home victory over the Michigan Wolverines (14-7, 5-5 Big Ten).

The Badgers three-point shooting paved the way for victory as Wisconsin banked 12 three pointers which tied for fourth best performance in program history. Three-point production was strong with four Badgers capitalizing from behind the arc. Serah Williams once again led the Badgers offense tallying 22 point and seven rebounds. Star three-point shooter Lily Krahn added 14 points going 4-6 from deep.

As a team, Wisconsin shot 53.1% (26-49) from the field, 48.0% (12-15) from beyond the arc, and 85.7% (18-21) from the free-throw line. The Wolverines hit 47.6% from the field, 30.0% from three, and 75.0% from the line.

How It Happened
Wisconsin came out strong, with Williams getting the Badgers on the board with an easy layup. Natalie Leuzinger followed up with a three-pointer, giving Wisconsin an early lead. The Wolverines quickly answered, going on a 10-0 run to take control. The Badgers responded with three straight triples, regaining the lead. The three-point barrage continued into the second quarter, with Halle Douglas joining the action. By halftime, Wisconsin had drained nine three-pointers, heading into the break with a 34-30 lead. The Badgers are now 7-0 when leading at the half at home.

After the break, both teams came out hungry, trading baskets back and forth. Wisconsin then pulled ahead, going on a 9-2 run to extend their lead. But Michigan wasn't done yet, and the third quarter ended with the teams locked at 53-53. The back-and-forth battle continued as both teams fought for the upper hand. Going into the final minutes of the game Williams and Carter McCray both earned key and-1s to contribute to an 18-7 run to seal the deal for Wisconsin.
