Late goal by Gulbrandsen puts Badgers ahead
MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin women's soccer team concluded its non-conference schedule with a 2-1 win against the Milwaukee Panthers on Thursday evening.
How it Happened
First Half
Aryssa Mahrt wasted no time in the first, getting a shot on goal in the fourth minute before adding another in the seventh.
The Panthers found a gap in the defense to strike in the 11th minute.
However Mahrt equalized the match in the 24th minute, capitalizing on a Ashley Martinez corner.

Only six games in, Mahrt has now surpassed her goal total from the 2023 season with six goals this year.
Heading into the locker room, Wisconsin overpowered Milwaukee on shots (10-1), shots-on-goal (5-1), and corners (6-1).
Second Half
The Badgers continued to battle with the Panthers early in the second half.
Midway through, the team had two corners and a shot-on-goal courtesy of Martinez.
In the 79th minute, Anya Gulbrandsen capitalized on a pass from Maddie Ishaug, putting the Badgers up 2-1. This was Gulbrandsen's first career goal.

UW dominated statistically, having the advantage in shots (15-8), shots-on-goal (7-2), and corners (9-7).
