Badger boats capture collegiate and novice eight events in Illinois
Rockford, Ill. – Wisconsin women's lightweight rowing hit the Rock River for a windy Head of the Rock Regatta on Sunday.

The lightweight performances were highlighted by the lightweight varsity eight winning the 13-boat women's collegiate eight, including over the UW openweights. Racing just over three miles, the lightweights clocked 16:47.753, just over six seconds faster than the second-place Badger openweights.

The Badgers' freshman eight boat also captured a gold medal, winning the women's collegiate novice eight in 17:16.167.

UW also took home the women's quadruple sculls title.
The wind forced cancelation of the women's collegiate four event.
Up Next
The Badgers travel to Boston for the prestigious Head of the Charles on the Charles River. Racing runs Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20.
