2. ALL THE AWARDS: After announcing that the top-three finalists for the WCHA Rookie of the Year award were all Badgers, Caroline Harvey was given the honor, the league announced Wednesday. Also named a top-three finalist for the WCHA Defender of the Year, Harvey has enjoyed a 35-point season on 11 goals and 24 assists, which ranks first among league freshmen. Fellow rookies Laila Edwards and Kirsten Simms were the other finalists for the honor, both enjoying impressive first seasons themselves. Edwards also was named the WCHA Rookie of the Month for February on Monday.Â
3. AGAINST THE GOPHERS: The Badgers went undefeated against the Gophers in the regular season for a record of 2-0-2, including a shootout win. The two teams last faced each other at Minnesota on Feb. 10-11, resulting in a thrilling shootout win for the Badgers and 7-5 takedown the next night. Wisconsin trails the all-time series against Minnesota, 47-55-16, however, UW is 8-3-4 in the last 15 games against their Border Battle rival.Â
