1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers completed the season sweep of St. Thomas, topping the Tommies at home 6-1 on Jan. 27 before wrapping up the series with a 3-0 win the next night. In exciting fashion, three Badgers hit career milestones in the series opener, with Casey O'Brien and Nicole LaMantia capturing 100 career points, while Jesse Compher posted her 150th collegiate point. Goalies Cami Kronish and Jane Gervais each picked up a win in the series, with Gervais earning her second career shutout.Â
2. O'BRIEN HONORED: After a strong outing in the Badger's eighth sweep of the season, junior
Casey O'Brien was named WCHA Forward of the Week for the first time this season. The Milton, Mass. native is honored after posting five points in the Badgers' sweep against St. Thomas, including a four-point outing on Friday night. The alternate captain also made history in Friday's game as she joined 30 other Badgers in the 100-point club at Wisconsin. O'Brien currently leads the team in points with 36 and is tied for the team lead in assists with 22, while leading the league in plus/minus with an impressive 36.
3. FILL THE BOWL HISTORY: The seventh-ever Fill the Bowl is back this weekend for the first time since 2020. The Badgers are 4-1-1 in Fill the Bowl games and 136-26-14 in all games at the Kohl Center. UW is looking to match its NCAA attendance record of 15,359, which was set at the 2017 Fill the Bowl game, also against St. Cloud State. UW has seven of the top-10 attendance marks in NCAA women's hockey history and are the only program to draw more than 10,000 fans to a game.Â
4. LAST TIME AGAINST ST. CLOUD: Wisconsin currently has a 33-game unbeaten streak against St. Cloud dating all the way back to Feb. 22, 2015, including a sweep earlier in the season. The Badgers last faced the Huskies on the road on Oct. 14-15. UW took down SCSU 5-0 in the series opener, before capping off the sweep in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 overtime win after being down most of the game.
Caroline Harvey scored the thrilling overtime winner, earning her WCHA Rookie of the Week.Â
5. IN THE STANDINGS: UW enters this weekend sitting in third place in the WCHA standings with 50 points, 11 clear of Minnesota Duluth who sits in fourth place. UW closes out the season with top-ranked Ohio State at LaBahn Arena, Feb. 18-19, as the Buckeyes currently sit in second place with 57 points.Â
