Head Coach Mark Johnson
On Senior Night:
"I'm happy for them. Obviously with their parents in town it's a fun weekend, an enjoyable weekend, a sad weekend. A lot of things come into play from an emotional standpoint. For Delaney to get a couple goals and Daryl to get a couple highlight goals, I'm excited for them and certainly excited for the team. It was a good day."
On Daryl's second goal:
"The last one was a highlight goal. She went through and navigated around and backhanded it into the empty net. It's sort of fitting. Our fans got to see a wonderful player score a highlight-type goal to end the regular season here for us."
Senior Delaney Drake
On experiencing Senior Day:Â
"It was really special. I've gone five years with this group and we've all gotten super close. I think they would all say the same thing, we're all best friends. It was great to experience that with them. Last year we might not have gotten that because of COVID, so it was fun to have the fans out there celebrating with us."
On her first goal:
"It was a great pass by Mak (Webster) obviously, kudos to her. She put it right on my tape and all I had to do was get it past the goalie at that point."
Senior Daryl Watts
On the team right now:
"It feels great. My line especially I feel like we're really clicking and it's a lot of fun to play right now. We're winning games, there's not much more you could ask for. I think there still are a few little areas we can improve upon moving forward, like just tape to tape passes and little details like that will go a long way. It was a really good weekend."
On her second goal:Â
"The goalie was pretty aggressive so she really bit hard then went around the net. Luckily there was just enough space and time to put the puck in. It was fun."
Up Next: Wisconsin heads to Ohio State for the final regular-season series of the season next weekend. The teams will face off at 5 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Fans can watch both games on B1G+.
