No. 14 Wisconsin wrestles No. 12 Princeton and Penn at Prudental Center in New Jersey
NEWARK, N.J. - No. 14 Wisconsin (3-1, 0-0 Big Ten) returns to the Garden State Grapple to wrestle No. 12 Princeton (0-1, 0-0 EIWA) and Penn (0-1, 0-0 EIWA) at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. CT. The matches will be streamed live on B1G+ and both matches will take place on Mat 3.

1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin earned it's third win of the dual season in resounding fashion, upsetting No. 7 Cornell 19-13 on the road at the Friedman Wrestling Center in Ithaca, N.Y. Austin Gomez silenced the crowd with a historic upset of top-ranked Yianni Diakomihalis, 9-3. It's only the second collegiate loss of the three-time NCAA champion's career. Gomez earned NCAA, Big Ten and USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week honors following the Badgers victory over Big Red. Wisconsin earned six bout victories against Cornell led by Gomez, Dean Hamiti, Eric Barnett, Garrett Model, Braxton Amos and Trent Hillger. Read the full recap at Cornell here on UWBadgers.com.
2. BADGERS 1-1 AT NWCA ALL-STAR CLASSIC: Wisconsin earned a split at the NWCA All-Star Classic on Nov. 22 in Austin, Texas. Gomez defeated Ohio State's Sammy Sasso, 10-9, at 149. He clinched the win with four takedowns in the final final period, including three in 25 seconds to defeat Sasso for a second-straight time in a rematch of the 2022 Big Ten final (Gomez won 8-5 to take the crown). Hamiti lost 7-1 to Missouri's top-ranked Keegan O'Toole at 165 pounds. Hamiti scored an escape for his lone point. Wisconsin was one of only four schools (3 in Big Ten) to have multiple wrestlers invited to compete in this elite event.
3. SCOUTING THE TIGERS: Quincy Monday, Blaine Bergey, Nate Dugan and Luke Stout were winners Nov. 18 in Princeton's dual-match opener at Indiana, but early wins for the Hoosiers built a lead that was too much for the Tigers to overcome in a 22-13 Indiana win. Read the recap here on GoPrincetonTigers.com. Monday is ranked No. 1 in the nation at 157 and is a 2022 NCAA All-American and NCAA finalist, losing the title 9-2 to Northwestern's Ryan Deakin. Princeton has five wrestlers ranked nationally by Intermat: Patrick Glory (2, 125), Monday (1, 157), Nate Dugan (32, 184), Luke Stout (19, 197) and Matt Cover (27, 285).
4. SCOUTING THE QUAKERS: Penn is coming off a 26-11 loss at No. 2 Iowa. The Quakers earned wins from Ryan Miller (125), Michael Colaiocco (133), and Carmen Ferrante (141). Anthony Artalona is currently 7-1 on the season after taking the title at 157 in back-to-back weekends at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic (Nov. 13) and the PRTC Keystone Classic (Nov. 20) to open the season. The Quakers went 2-2 in dual meets against nationally ranked opponents in during the 2021-22 season, earning victories vs. #14 Lehigh and #19 Princeton. Eight Quakers are ranked nationally by Intermat: Miller (17, 125), Colaiocco (10, 133), Zapf (10, 157), Artalona (17, 157), Incontrera (24, 174), Urbas (27, 197) and Goldin (24, 285).
