Badgers storm back on Notre Dame

Weissbach scores his 100th career point with game-winning goal
MADISON, Wis. — The fifth-ranked Wisconsin men's hockey team (15-8-0, 13-6-0-0-1-0 Big Ten) overcame an early two-goal deficit to defeat Notre Dame (10-12-1, 8-10-1-1-2-1 Big Ten) in a 4-2 spectacle on Friday at LaBahn Arena.
The Fighting Irish broke the ice with a goal just 31 seconds into the first period. Alex Steeves gave his squad a 1-0 lead, with help from Graham and Landon Slaggert.
Notre Dame scored again at 8:28 in the first period, this one from Graham Slaggert assisted by Steeves and Landon Slaggert.
The Badgers entered the second period down by two, but Owen Lindmark cut the deficit in half with a goal at 3:22. Jack Gorniak carried the puck over the blue line and passed to Mathieu De St. Phalle as he entered the zone. De St. Phalle found Lindmark on the far side and Notre Dame goaltender Dylan St. Cyr couldn't slide over in time, leaving Lindmark with an open net.
Cole Caufield notched the equalizing goal on the power play at 9:37 in the second period. Dylan Holloway threaded a pass to Caufield on the far point, who took a few steps and fired the puck into the far upper corner for his national-best 18th goal of the season.
The Badgers and Fighting Irish headed into the third period tied 2-2.
Linus Weissbach gave the Badgers the lead in dramatic fashion, scoring his 100th career point at 8:18 of the third, assisted by Ty Pelton-Byce and Cole Caufield. With a no-look pass, Pelton-Byce redirected Caufield's shot to Weissbach who was in the perfect position to tap the puck in the net. His teammates immediately swarmed him to celebrate the career milestone.
Apparently, 100 points weren't enough for Weissbach. He scored an empty-net goal at 19:35 in the third period to notch his 101st career point, assisted by Pelton-Byce.
Goaltender Robbie Beydoun kept Notre Dame scoreless throughout the second and third periods and had 29 saves on the night.
