MADISON, Wis. — The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team returns to LaBahn Arena to take on No. 5 Minnesota in a Friday/Saturday showdown. Puck drop on Friday is set for 7 p.m. while Saturday's series finale begins at 3 p.m.
This weekend's Border Battle is a Red Out at LaBahn Arena as all fans are encouraged to wear their favorite red Wisconsin apparel to the series. In addition, UW will be giving out red jersey replica t-shirts, while supplies last, prior to Friday's puck drop.
Friday's game can be heard on 1070 AM while fans can watch both games online via B1G+.
Parking for both games this weekend will be free in Lot 91 starting two hours before puck drop. Fans should be advised to give themselves extra time on Saturday due to the Wisconsin men's basketball game at the Kohl Center that starts at 11:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT: UW is coming off of a sweep of St. Thomas in the first meeting between the two teams.
Maddi Wheeler scored twice in the Badgers' 7-1 win on Nov. 20 against the Tommies while five different Badgers lit the lamp in a 5-1 triumph on Nov. 21.
Jane Gervais made her first career start on Nov. 21, stopping 13 shots she faced to collect her first collegiate win.

STELLAR IN THE SECOND: The Badgers have dominated the middle period, outscoring their opponents 37-2 during the second frame. UW has scored goals in the second period in 13 of its 16 games this season, including two times when the Badgers scored six times in the second frame.
Daryl Watts has a team-best 15 points during the second period, while her six goals in the frame rank second behind
Casey O'Brien, who's scored seven times in the second period.

ON A ROLL:Â The Badgers enter the weekend with a 22-game unbeaten streak, the fourth-longest streak in school history. UW is 10 games shy of matching the school record of 32 games unbeaten, which has happened twice. The Cardinal and White is undefeated through its first 16 games of the 2021-22 season, which is the third-longest unbeaten run to open a season in program history.

AGAINST THE GOPHERS: Wisconsin has turned the tide as of late in the Border Battle series as the Cardinal and White has a 10-3-2 record in its last 15 games against Minnesota and a 16-5-4 record dating back to the start of the 2016-17 season. The Badgers are also on an eight-game undefeated streak against the Gophers with a 6-0-2 record in the last eight meetings.

HOME, SWEET HOME: UW will play its first games at home in almost a month this weekend after earning five of six points against Bemidji State on Nov. 6-7. UW is 5-0-1 at LaBahn this year, have outscored their opponents 25-4 and have played in front of a sellout crowd at LaBahn Arena six times.  Wisconsin could reach its 100th sellout game at LaBahn this season as to date, there have been 91 sellouts. On home ice, Wisconsin is currently running an 11-game unbeaten streak.
