Six Badgers face off against former program
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team faces U.S. National Team Development Program's Under-18 Team in an exhibition contest on Thursday, Dec. 2 at the Kohl Center.

Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:
1 - ADOPT A TEDDY BEAR! The teddy bear toss is coming back to the Kohl Center! Fans can adopt a bear at the game and bring it home this Thursday, Dec. 2 then toss it on the ice during the teddy bear toss on Dec. 11 during the Badgers matchup against Penn State.
2 - FROM STARS AND STRIPES TO CARDINAL AND WHITE: Six current Badgers have roots at the USA NTDP. Caden Brown, Tyler Inamoto, Daniel Laatsch, Owen Lindmark, Jake Martin, and Cameron Rowe previously skated at the program headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan.
Inamoto donned the Red, White, and Blue from 2015-17 and won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 Under-18 World Championship. Junior forward Owen Lindmark and sophomore goaltender Cameron Rowe claimed bronze at the 2019 Under-18 World Championship along with former Badgers Cole Caufield and Alex Turcotte. Freshmen Brown and Martin are the most recent additions to the Badgers roster from the NTDP.
3 - UP AND COMING: NTDP forward Charlie Stramel is set to join the Badgers next season as part of their 2021 class of signees but will miss his squad's exhibition game against the Badgers due to injury.
The Minnesota-native notched nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 30 games with the Under-17 squad last season before being called up to join the Under-18 squad. In the final stretch of the season he recorded four goals and three assists for seven points in 15 games.
On the international stage, Stramel played in five games for Team USA in the 2021 Under-18 World Championship where he tallied two goals and two assists as the squad's youngest player.
4 - LAST TIME OUT: The last time Wisconsin went head to head with the NTDP was on Jan. 1, 2020 at USA Arena against a squad including current Badger defenseman Daniel Laatsch. The Badgers won that matchup 3-2.
5 - FROM THE HISTORY BOOKS: The Badgers are 6-2-0 against the U.S Under-18 Team in all-time meetings with 38 players from the program all-time on their rosters. Among the former Badgers and USNTDP alumni are Hobey Baker winners Cole Caufield and Blake Geoffrion and NHL stars Ryan Suter, Jake McCabe and Luke Kunin.
Additionally, former-Badger and current Buffalo Sabers head coach (and brother of Tony Granato), Don Granato served as head coach for the U.S NTDP from 2013-16.
