Badgers fell to the Cornhuskers, 50-65
LINCOLN, NEB.- The Badgers fell on the road to the Cornhuskers, 65-50.
Wisconsin led by five early in the first quarter before Nebraska took over. The Badgers cut the Cornhuskers' largest lead of 25 by 10 points to end the game.
Imani Lewis led the Badgers in scoring for the third game in a row. With 18 points and 10 rebounds, she records her fifth consecutive double-double, matching DeLinda Hastie's third-place record set during the 1987-88 season. Hastie was the most recent player to have five or more consecutive double-doubles.
Second in scoring for the Badgers was Sydney Hilliard with nine points, followed by Suzanne Gilreath with seven. Gilreath is also now tied for fifth place with 191 career 3 pt baskets. Kendra Van Leeuwen also contributed to team stats, dishing out four assists and stealing twice.
Leigha Brown led Nebraska in scoring with 15 points, followed by Sam Haiby and Isabelle Bourne, who both scored 11. Bourne also led in rebounds with eight.
The Badgers remain on the road, traveling to Michigan State on Sunday, Jan. 12. Tip-off is 2 p.m. (CT)
