Wisconsin heads to Atlanta for Big Ten/ACC Challenge
MADISON, WIS.- The Badgers are headed to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the 13th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Thurs. Dec. 12.
Here are five things to know before tip.
1. Tropical Recap: Wisconsin went 1-1 at the Bahamas Hoopfest tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. The team defeated Ball State 67-56 and fell to No. 23 ranked Arkansas 64-68. The Badgers are now 5-2 for the season.
2. Team Leaders: Sophomore Imani Lewis is leading the Badgers in points. Having scored 99 through the first seven games, she is averaging 14.1 points per game. Senior Abby Laszewski leads in rebounds with 56 total, averaging 6.3 per game. Senior Kendra Van Leeuwen, who just entered the top-ten Badgers for all-time assists, leads in assists with 39 total, averaging 5.6 per game. Dec. 5 will be Van Leeuwen's 100th career start.Â
3. Survive the Swarm: Georgia Tech is currently 5-1, falling for the first time this season to Rutgers, 46-43, at the 2019 Junkanoo Jam tournament in the Bahamas. Junior forward Lorela Cubaj was named to the All-Tournament team with 24 rebounds and 22 points throughout the tournament's two games. Senior guard Francesca Pan was also named to the Cheryl Miller watch list for the Jackets in October. This is head coach Nell Fortner's first season with Tech, having previously coached with Purdue and Auburn, as well as the U.S. national team.

5. Next Up: On Sun. Dec. 12 the Badgers will be headed to North Dakota State for their last game in a four-game stretch on the road, the team will take on the Bison at 2 p.m.
