Senior extended her goal streak to seven in sweep of St. Cloud State
MADISON, Wis. – For the second time this year, Wisconsin women's hockey's Annie Pankowski has earned league accolades as the senior was named the WCHA Forward of the Week on Tuesday.
The Laguna Hills, California, native scored three goals to lead the top-ranked Badgers to a sweep of St. Cloud State on the road last weekend.
Pankowski scored a pair of goals in the second period in UW's 8-2 rout of the Huskies on Friday before adding an empty-net power-play goal in the final seconds of UW's 3-1 win on Saturday to put the game out of reach.
A two-time Patty Kazmaier Top-10 Finalist, Pankowski has now scored in seven straight games for the Badgers, which is the third-longest streak in program history. She now leads the WCHA in goals with 14 despite missing two games due to the Four Nations Cup.
Pankowski's three goals this weekend paced the league and were tied for the NCAA lead while her three points were tied for the third-most in the league.
The top-ranked Badgers are in the midst of their holiday break and will return to action Jan. 11-12 with a showdown at No. 8 Ohio State.
