MADISON, Wis. – The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team faces its toughest test of the year this weekend as No. 3 Minnesota comes to town. Puck drop on Saturday and Sunday at LaBahn Arena is set for 2 p.m. and both games are sold out.

Parking is $5 for Saturday's game in Lots 29, 46 and 91 and fans must vacate the lots immediately following the women's game. Fans should note that there are roads that will be closed around LaBahn Arena due to Freakfest on Saturday night. Check out this City of Madison map with street closures

Parking for Sunday's 2 p.m. contest is free in Lot 91.

1. BACK ON THE AIRWAVES: The Badgers first rivalry matchup of the season will be broadcasted on the radio waves this weekend. Saturday and Sunday's games can be heard on 100.9 FM and the iHeartRadio app. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. on both days with longtime announcer Reid Magnum back for another season of broadcasting Badgers play-by-play.

2. BORDER BATTLE HISTORY: Wisconsin and Minnesota are not friends, but they grace us every year by meeting up for at least four games of elite, competitive hockey. The border-rivals have played 94 games spanning a 20-year history on the ice. UW has defeated the Gophers the last five of six games, including a series-sweep of Minnesota at home last season. This weekend's series between the rivals is the highest-ranked matchup in the NCAA this season, as both the Badgers (1) and Golden Gophers (3) are ranked in the top-three in the nation.

3. MOVING ON UP: UW has been slowly knocking at the door of the top spot in the USCHO.com Poll, and following former No. 1 Clarkson's OT loss to unranked St. Lawrence last Friday, the Badgers have taken the mantle. Wisconsin's view from the top is well-deserved, the squad is 8-0-0 to start the season with the leading points-scorer (14) in the NCAA in junior Abby Roque. The Badgers have taken advantage of every scoring opportunity this year, boasting the No. 3 ranked power-play unit in the country with a .286 clip.

4. CALL SHIRLEY AN AWARD WINNER: Sophie Shirley racked up the points for the Badgers this weekend, notching four points in UW'S sweep of Princeton. The freshman was named not only the WCHA Rookie of the Week, but the NCAA Third Star of the Week as she was the only player in the NCAA last week to net multiple game-winning goals.

5. INTERNATIONAL DUTY: Seniors Annie Pankowski and Mikaela Gardner are receiving some well-deserved recognition. The Wisconsin veterans have been named to the United States roster for the upcoming Four Nations Cup. Pankowski is currently second on the team with eight points, averaging a point per game for the undefeated Badgers. Gardner has anchored a dominant UW defense that has two shutouts this year while adding three points from the blueline.
